Orlando Florida Incident:
The Islamic Centre of Cambridge strongly condemns the tragic and brutal loss of fifty valuable lives and injured in Orlando Florida. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with the families of the deceased and the injured. We feel the pain of the families who have lost their loved ones. May Almighty God grant strength and patience to the affective families to go through this trying time.
May God keep us safe and our neighbours safe. May He keep our nation safe and bless us with the courage like our late Brother Muhammad Ali, and resolve to become exemplary neighbours and useful Citizens.
Islamic Center of Cambridge and the Muslim Community of Cambridge joins Muslims around the world in mourning Paris attacks:
The Islamic Center of Cambridge mourns the horrific loss of life in attacks in Paris.
As Muslims, we reaffirm our belief, as emphasized in the Quran, that whoever kills one life, it is as if they have killed all of humanity, and whoever saves even one life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity (Chapter 5: Verse 32).
“This tragedy has touched the world,” said Sheikh Abdul Raouf Kabbar. “We call on Muslims in Paris and all across France not to fear and hide, but to step forward and assist in all efforts to help the injured, find the lost, and comfort those suffering from shock and pain.”
We are distressed to learn that the politically-motivated extremists claiming responsibility for the attack are justifying their deeds in the name of our faith.
Islam condemns all forms of barbarity, murder, and attacks on innocent people.
Muslims, scholars and laypersons the world over have, do, and will continue to condemn these and any extremists that use Islam to justify their actions, which, under Islamic laws and teachings, would be punished strictly in a court of law.
We call for peace, healing, and justice for the victims, as well as an end to violence against the innocent in any and every part of the world.
We pray for light, guidance, and hope at this time of great darkness.
Please feel free to reach out to us via email, call, or visiting the Islamic Centre of Cambridge.
